What and where is this mysterious spacer? Is it the reason that these bikes backfire, and run so hot that they burn their exhaust systems blue? Most importantly,
how can I remove it and what adjustments would have to be made to compensate for its removal? Apparently this topic has been discussed to death in the past,
but that doesn't help all of us newcomers. If there is someone out there with the answers, would they mind posting a detailed description of this process
somewhere that we can access it? I have recently bought a 1986 Savage in mint condition. I love it, but fear that this lean running is doing damage to the motor.
